History
GOTeam Racing is founded in 2017 by Oliver Silva and Georgi Nedev on the Gothenburg go-kart tracks. The idea for a team was first conceived in the autumn of 2016.
Since 2017 the team was primarily active on the rFactor 2 platform racing in GT, Touring Cars and Formula cars. From 2018 onwards, the team also started building an iRacing division. In 2020, the team's presence is balanced between the two platforms.
GOTeam Racing established itself as primarily an endurance racing team on rFactor 2. The team participated in two seasons of the Chequered Flag Endurance World Sportscar Championship in which they won the 12 Hours of Road Atlanta and the 12 Hours of Le Mans. The team also raced in the P1 Gaming Le Mans Series.
In 2020, GOTeam Racing acquired Swedish Simracers who were primarily active on the rFactor 2 platform in the Virtual Endurance Championship. Robert Johnsson, Richard Nilsson and Rickard Norgren joined the team.
For the 24 Hours of Daytona in 2020, GOTeam Racing collaborated with World's Fastest Gamer 2019 James Baldwin. The team fielded a Ferrari 488 in the GTE class. Later, Baldwin also joined the team for the 12 Hours of Bathurst on iRacing, finishing in 2nd place near Red Bull Racing eSports.
GOTeam Racing started participating in season 13 of the Virtual Endurance Championship. The team had two LMP2 entries and a Porsche 911 RSR driving in the GTE class. The season culminated in a controversial 2nd place in the VEC 24 Hours of Le Mans event for the division 2 car and one entry finishing in division 1 spearheaded by Moriz Mehl and Mattias Stahre.
In the 24 Hours of Le Mans event, the division 2 car collaborated with guest drivers Mickael Le Roux and Remi Delorme. In season 14, they fielded a third LMP2 car together with Benjamin Sagnes under the GOTeam Racing flag. They were assorted into division 1, amounting GOTeam's participation to four entries in two classes.
Sponsorship
In 2018, BSR Tuning AB gets on board as a partner. Since then they have been the team's main sponsor.
The team also receives sponsorship from Onion Host, 3DRap, Sparco Gaming and the Autos y Carreras podcast.
From 2020 to 2021, the team was also sponsored by Swedish fast food restaurants Big Smajl.
