Founded in 2017, the eNASCAR Pro Invitational iRacing Series was a NASCAR-sanctioned esports series featuring real-world NASCAR drivers. While the series debuted in 2017, it rose to international notoriety when the series was revived during the 2020 season after NASCAR competition was halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning with the 2020 season, FOX Sports started broadcasting Pro Invitational Series races on FOX and FS1. The 2020 Homestead broadcast on FOX garnered 1.33 million viewers, setting a new record for the most-watched esports event in U.S. linear TV history. FOX returned as the broadcast partner in 2021 showing all 5 races on FS1.
